[PV] just left; wearing his shades and carrying his bags. Today was his last day in [Greenland]. He has decided to move on to something else; something better I suppose. I had always thought that [Greenland] was not a place for a person like him.
I helped to take pictures of himself in his room and felt that the office looked rather different today. It appeared ...empty; as if its soul got sucked out. The white board was quote-free and his billboard was desire-free. He took down the cut outs of the US dollar and the car with keys. I guess that was my last view of the room since there are will be no more 2pm visits.
I am really going to miss my 2pm meetings. It was the only thing to look forward to in [Greenland] apart from lunch with [GT]. It was full of l intellectual conversations that never failed to provoke my thoughts. There were opinions, comments, very mild debates, humour and always something to learn. Every time I stepped out of that room, I walked out knowing something new. And, I am very grateful for that.
[PV] was never supervisor or a boss. He had always been a mentor; a trusted guide, teacher... friend. All he does is talk and make you think. And, trust me, it is sufficient.
Apart from that, he is an enthusiastic gentleman who loves his family a lot. I am a fan of his daughter, whom I have never met. He has a blog dedicated to her growing years and it is the sweetest thing I have seen in recent days. The last thing I told him was ‘Please update your blog’. (I hope he does).
Well, that is all. I just felt I should pen some thoughts about a good person I met.
