Wipe your jokes please

I am a little annoyed right now.

Sometime ago I accepted the 'friend request', in Facebook, of a lady whom I did not know. I only added her because she was from the same hometown as me and had quite a few mutual friends. I thought that there was possibility for us to have bumped into each other or somehow connected. Now I really regret the acceptance.

She said "hi" in FB chat and I responded to her chat. We were in the process of getting to know each other, when I told her that my child was 5 months. She responded to that with "whose baby? your husband's or your lovers?" And I was startled for a moment. As I begun type a harsh reply, she said "Just kidding. Don't get offended ok?". I ignore and continued to type furiously.

Everyone who knows me well is aware that I have very low tolerance for jokes that are insulting, embarrassing, offensive and hurting. No matter how funny they are. I have defined boundaries for jokes and when it crosses the line, I burst into flames. So, I told her very politely that such a joke was unappreciated. It was such a indecent thing to say to a person whom she just met.

This is not a joke. It is lack of decency in conversation. To me, the person lacks communication skills because they do know what to talk to whom.

It was sad indeed. She held the name of one of the greatest ladies in Islam and she speaks so low. Very sad indeed. May Allah guide her.

Signed,
Annoyed and annoyed
